Welcome!
I am Principal Research Scientist at Boston Fusion, where I provide technical leadership (principal investigator role) on autonomous systems projects. Main activities include writing proposals, planning work, leading team members, and hands-on involvement to meet deliverables. I am also a Lecturer at the College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University, where I teach predictive analytics topics such as Generalized Linear Models, Random Forests, Gradient Boosting, Neural Networks, Exponential Smoothing, ARIMA, and Bayesian analysis.
Previously I worked as a Research Scientist at Sync Computing, where I designed, analyzed, prototyped, and empirically evaluated optimization algorithms for minimizing the cost and/or makespan of computation DAGs (e.g., Apache Airflow) which are common in cloud computing.
My academic research as a Ph.D. student and later as a postodoctoral researcher focused on stochastic numerical optimization and multi-agent systems design and control. These areas can be simultaneously studied within the field called swarm intelligence, which is the collective problem-solving behavior of large groups of agents (animals, software agents, or robots). I have worked on the three main areas of application of swarm intelligence: data mining, optimization, and swarm robotics. I have been a member of the editorial boards of the journals Swarm Intelligence and Frontiers in Robotics and AI: Computational Intelligence.
