topics: Maximization and minimization of functions of finitely many variables
subject to constraints. Basic problem types and examples of applications;
linear, convex, smooth, and non-smooth programming. Optimality conditions.
Saddle points and dual problems. Penalties and decomposition. Overview of
computational approaches.

**MATH-243 — Analytical Geometry and Calculus C**: This is the multivariable calculus
course for University of Delaware students. The main topics covered in this

**MATH-241 — Analytical Geometry and Calculus A**: This is the
first course of single variable calculus for University of Delaware students.
Topics covered included functions, limits, derivatives, differentiation rules,
applications of derivatives, and integrals. Taught two sections of approximately
110 students each of the first single variable calculus course for STEM
undergraduate students. I also supervised three graduate teaching assistants and
one undergraduate grader.

**Before Fall 2011**

In 2010 and 2011, I was the main instructor of the module on **Particle Swarm
Optimization** (PSO) of the Swarm Intelligence course offered to students
enrolled at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the Vrije Universiteit
Brussel. The goal of this module was to introduce students to the problem of
continuous optimization and its solution using PSO algorithms.
